  1. HuacaHuasi, Peru. Praise the Lord!!! The roof of the church has been completed! With the money donated through URMA there was not only money for the roof to be completed, they were able to purchase exterior doors for the building. A generous American from one of RMS member churches donated a large sum of money in order for the brothers and sisters of HuacaHuasi to complete some finishing touches on the building including windows, flooring, plastering, and paint! Thanks be to God for His providence and to all who helped with this project! Another note of praise regarding this church in the Peruvian mountains, In October 2021, the church was organized as an official church in their presbytery! They appointed new elders to serve this congregation and the community surrounding the church.
  2.  The Christ the King Presbyterian Church. Building progress continues to move forward! All of the walls have been constructed and the exterior finishes are coming together! Inside, they are working on the mechanical rough-ins and preparing for drywall installation. Outside the parking lot base is being installed. There is not a targeted move in date as they wit upon the Lord for everything to be completed and the occupancy permit issued. Continue to pray for this project to be completed and that this church, Christ’s church, will continue to be salt and light into this community!
  3. Haiti Earthquake Relief. RMS gives thanks to our Heavenly Father for the generosity of His people to those who were affected by the devastating earthquake in 2021. Through the donations given, 50 portable garages and 30 tents were purchased to give families, churches, and schools much needed shelter after their buildings were destroyed. RMS was also able to send funds through our missionary contact to provide food and other necessities. There is still many people and churches in need, however, by God’s providence they are well on their way to recovery at this time.
     4. The RMS General Fund. We are grateful for the prayer and financial support given to us by our brothers and sisters in Canada! We exist to assist churches, missionaries, and other ministries to provide assistance and opportunities to serve God. It is through the generosity that God provides funding for us to continue in this work for His Kingdom! By these gifts, we are able to travel domestically and around the globe to evaluate and oversee the various projects presented to our member churches. THANK YOU!!!

URMA / RMS is working with an OPC church plant in Naples Florida called Christ the King Church.

Their vision is to plant a church built on the Word of God and the sweet doctrines of God’s marvelous grace as summarized the Westminster Confession of Faith, also using other Reformed creeds and confessions in the worship services.  The goal of all our preaching, teaching, fellowship, worship, Bible studies, outreach and prayer ministry  is that the God of hope would fill us with joyand peace in believing, so that as a body of believers we would overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  (Romans 15:13) Why is this new church forming in Naples? Because the south and east part of Naples is a rapidly growing area and there is much work to be done to proclaim the Gospel of Grace! There are several new housing developments in the East/South Naples area with more than 1,000 residences planned! The fields are white for harvest… (over $250,000 raised)

4.  CLIR: $61,293.05 Sent
The Confraternidad Latinoamericana de Iglesias Reformadas (CLIR) was founded in 1994 to provide a forum for fellowship and joint ministry among Reformed and Presbyterian churches.
Rev. Bill Green has worked as Executive Secretary for the CLIR since 1997. Since it’s inception, the CLIR has grown to include some 12 denominations in many countries of Latin America. As a fellowship, the CLIR seeks to provide ways in which church leaders may become familiar with other Reformed believers and situations, in order to mutually address the challenge of evangelizing this region of the world. During these past years it has been proven that by working together we can accomplish more. These are some of the activities the CLIR is presently involved in:Leadership conferences – Many conferences have been jointly sponsored by the CLIR and local churches. Hundreds of church leaders have received training in various important aspects of ministry, such as elder training, liturgy, Reformed theology, and orientation to Roman Catholic spirituality.
Publications – Through the theological journal Reforma Siglo 21 a thousand pastors and leaders are receiving a practical, contemporary resource for their ministry. This cutting edge publication engages everyday issues which church leaders face. At the same time it offers an historical and confessional focus for churches buffeted by the desire for the new and sensational. Publications have risen from 300 to 5000 copies.
Missions – One of the CLIR’s goals is to stimulate church growth, new church planting and foreign missions. As reformed churches throughout Latin America are becoming more aware of the conditions in each region, there is a growing sense of the need to join efforts to reach those areas which as yet have no Reformed witness. The CLIR’s general meetings, which bring leaders from all over the continent, have been one of the principal means by which a growing camaraderie has arisen.
5.  THE TEPEYAC CHRISTIAN SCHOOL TUITION RELIEF: $18,234.21 Sent
History: The Tepeyac Christian School (TCS) was begun in 1992 as an extension ministry of the Iglesia Reformada de Tepeyac which has its ministry in a residential area on the outskirts of San José, Costa Rica. The Tepeyac church became more and more convinced of the need for a school, and the three main factors were the following:
1) The scriptural mandate to train our children in the fear of the Lord became more and more urgent as consumerism and secularism has invaded the Costa Rican society. Public schools in Costa Rica have not been able to withstand these forces. As a support for our christian families the church felt the need for Christian education, for many families are affected by these same values.
2) Our work in the squatter settlement of Los Cuadros, a community with severe social problems, poverty, and drug/alchohol abuse, impressed upon us the need for a greater involvement with the children if the cycle of poverty were to be broken. We saw generation after generation following in a cycle which only spiraled downward. Christian ministry which was limited to the “normal” forms of Sunday school and church activities was not sufficient to transform the values of the children, their patterns of conduct, their feelings of inability. The Tepeyac church became convinced that we needed a multi-faceted approach to the problem of poverty: we would maintain an evangelistic and teaching ministry in the community; we would begin a school which treated the spiritual aspects of these children; included in our curriculum would be the tools for successful careers in Costa Rica – this would include English and computing, among other things.
3) The radical decline in membership of the Protestant churches in Costa Rica has been caused by a fanatical emotionalism, poor testimony and lack of trained leadership. The image of evangelical churches is so bad that evangelism has become very difficult. The Tepeyac school would also be a testimony of our church to the community of our identity and commitment with the Costa Rican society, especially in the area of education. We would open the school to those parents who were willing to support our biblical, Christ-centered philosophy of education, even if these parents were not members of an evangelical church. In this way our school also would serve as an evangelistic testimony.
In 1992 the school was opened with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, two teachers and 20 students. From this time it has grown to a school of 250 students, offering K – 11th grade (complete grade school and high school), and has a staff of 30, including 1 volunteer English teachers. Almost half of the staff are members of our Tepeyac church, and the other half come from various evangelical churches. Besides paid staff, there are members from the church who volunteer on a regular basis in counseling, repair work, and other tasks. The great majority of our operating budget is paid for by tuition, even though this has been an extremely difficult road. The school has kept tuition well below most private schools of Costa Rica, and has also provided tuition help for up to 1/3 of its students. It has been able to do this through the many volunteers who cooperate with this ministry.
God has blessed the school with a wonderful building, the product of cooperative efforts of many churches and individuals from the US and Canada, as well as the Tepeyac church. The building has sixteen classrooms, an administration building, ample bathrooms and a storage room. Our grounds are not large, but we have done what we can to make them adequate for playground use.
We are thankful to the Lord for the hundreds of people who have given of time and money for this project. The Tepeyac school has truly been a testimony of God’s love poured out through the unity of joint efforts of His people!
6.  REV. BILL GREEN: $7,191.75 Sent

They also helped establish the Tepeyac Christian grade school and high school which Aletha served as principal for over 15 years. And Bill is Executive Secretary for the “Latin American Fellowship of Reformed Churches” (CLIR) which has as its goal bringing Reformed churches and groups together throughout Latin America to strengthen church leaders, provide support for those who need it, and serve the propagation and defense of the Reformed faith. 1.  Church Maintenance Project in Baja California North, Mexico:  $6500
Update: December, 2018 - Total funds donated to this project - $8,000.00
Over the past few years we have been worshipping and working with the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico located in Ensenada, Mexico and its church plant efforts in Maneadero and the surrounding villages. The Church building in Maneadero is in need of updates and improvements to the facility and the apartment located on the second floor of the church. The monies collected for this project would go towards repairing a retaining wall and increasing the height of the water tank to supply water to the second-floor apartment. This is an ongoing project for the church and the surrounding community.
2.  Nepal Talking Bible Project: $6500

Update: December, 2018 - Total funds donated to this project - $4,000.00 (no more funds are needed at this time)
URMA / RMS  works through churches in other parts of the world including Nepal. The indigenous cultures in this part of the world are oral based communicators where many do not read or write. It is still very important that these people receive the Gospel Message so that they can repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the monies collected for this project would go towards the recording and producing of digital copies of the entire Bible in the Nepalese language. The New Testament is available in this language from other sources in a Dynamic Equivalent form of the scriptures only. It is our goal to record the Bible in its entirety in a more Formal Equivalent translation in the Nepalese language for distribution to the people of Nepal.
3.  Bhaktapur Theological Seminary, Nepal: $32,500
Update: December, 2018 - Total funds donated to this project - $42,496.24
In Bhaktapur, one of the major districts of Kathmandu, MINTS Theological Students have started a Bible College and Seminary. They currently meet in the Shekinah Evangelical Church building for the classes. They started with a one-year certificate-level class and hope to begin a bachelor’s program as soon as the first groups of students complete their certificates. However, as they add classes and students, their small, one-room church will no longer provide adequate space. There are two plots of land next to their current church building that are available for sale. If they can acquire that property, they will be able to construct a building that will provide additional space for their worship services as well as classrooms, offices, a library, and possible dorm rooms for Bhaktapur Theological Seminary. We are committed to helping them achieve these goals for the glory of God and the edification of God’s people in Bhaktapur.

SANTA MARTA, COLOMBIA 2017
Update: November 2017 - All the required funds for this project have been raised!

Santa Marta, Colombia. The United Reformed Missions Association (URMA)upon the recommendation of Dr. Neal Hegeman of MINTS Theological Seminary, assisted the congregation of the Calvary Reformed Church in Santa Marta, Colombia in the construction of the second floor of the church. This second floor will be used for Sunday School classrooms, a small kitchen, bathrooms and an office/study for the pastor. The monies collected for this project were used for the construction of the concrete columns, the purchase of the materials to be used by a Reformed Mission Services team (RMS.org) and additional supplies needed for the completion of the project.  The total cost for the project and our goal was approximately $25 000.00 (CAD).

 The Construction
A couple of members of the RMS team arrived on site July 25, 2017 to see that the columns had been poured and the blockwork was underway. Doug Field and I worked to move about 750 blocks to the second floor so that they were off the street level and to where they could be used. The Church had hired local people to lay the blocks. They were men who were related or friends of the members of the congregation. This proved to be an efficient way to get the work done as well as provide some financial support to the local people.

RMS had sent the donation of $9,500.00 (US) from Trinity Reformed Church, a RMS Member church in Canada, in the beginning of June so that the Church could begin the construction on the second floor in preparation for the RMS team that would arrive at the end of July. RMS brought $2,500.00 (US) from the team members to continue the project.

The second floor would be used for two classrooms, a Pastor’s study, a kitchen, and three bathrooms. The classrooms would be primarily used as Sunday School classes for the children in which they meet outdoors at the present time. Calvary has membership/education classes during the week and there is an adult class that meets before the morning service on Sunday. By having the second-floor facilities, it gives the church the ability to set up the sanctuary for worship services and not have to take it back down after every service.

The total cost to complete the second floor is approximately $19,000.00 (US). The church has exhausted the initial $12,000.00 that has been donated and is in need of the remaining $7,000.00 for doors, finish plumbing, finish plaster for the walls, paint, electrical and tile.

Day after day progress was being made, even with a little help from the RMS team.

As the week went along, the RMS team lifted the blocks to the second floor as well as 6 sq. meters of gravel.

The day that we said goodbye to the people in Santa Marta, the construction workers were beginning to pour the bond beam on top of the block walls that were laid while we were there.
In the weeks after our visit the brothers continued to work on the building. The formed and poured the third floor and built the stairway leading up to that floor. At this time, that floor will be the roof for the second floor.
As of August 30th, the Church has used all the funds that RMS and URMA had collected for the second floor. They need approximately $7,000.00 (USD) to put the finishing touches including plastering and painting the walls, windows and doors, ceramic tiles, and a railing for the porch. They will continue the work as funds allow.
Outreach and Evangelism
The team travelled to a reservation that had been set up for the indigenous people of Colombia near Santa Marta. We met with the leaders of the village there including a couple who are members of the Calvary Church. There is a great need for Biblical instruction there. A couple of women come by every other week to host a Bible Study with the women and children of the village. However, there is nothing substantial as far as Biblical studies for the men. Calvary Church is committed to work to get more Biblical education to the village and desire to purchase a vehicle to be able to transport these people to the church services and Bible studies/classes that are held throughout the week.

There is a construction project there as well. Some time ago, volunteers built a school building to be used to educate the children of the village. However, it was not completely finished and is very unstable. Columns and a bond beam need to be poured in order to stabilize the walls, making it safe to be used for classrooms again. This will be difficult to accomplish as the trusses and roofing materials are already installed. There are parts of the roof that need to be replaced as well because tree branches have fallen on it causing holes and missing sheets of metal.

The people there are poor and cannot afford some of the basic necessities and rely on farming for their livelihood. They grow fruits and vegetables for eating and to send to the city. One of the difficulties that they face is water for their gardens. They rely on rain water to irrigate the crops. During the dry months, the crops and trees tend to die and/or do not bear fruit. A way to help with this would be to assist the people with cisterns that could collect the rain water and/or be filled using water from the nearby river (a pump could be used for getting the water to the cistern from the river).

Foundacion Sembrando Vida (Sowing Life Foundation)
Another important program that Calvary Reformed Church provides is a program that helps less fortunate children with an after/before school program that tutors them as well as provide other services to them. The students come to the foundation before school (those who have afternoon classes) or after school (those who have morning classes) to receive Biblical lessons, a meal, tutoring, and medical checkups (periodically). There are classes for the mothers periodically to instruct them on some basic skills for hygiene, nutritional, and other topics to raise their children.
A couple of the volunteers also coach soccer teams with the different age groups and through soccer they teach team sportsmanship, respect, and how to be a witness through their actions on and off the field. They also have a music program where the students can sign up to learn how to play the piano, drums, guitar, and sing.

The RMS team brought some donations down for this program and had the opportunity to purchase more items for them to use for the instruction of these students.  All the volunteers work without pay, donating their time to these students. Most of the volunteers are members of Calvary Reform Church. They rely on donations and the offerings taken at the church to operate there in the city.

Calvary Reformed Church has many more things that they are a part of and vision to reach more people in the North Coast of Colombia. They would like to purchase the property directly behind the church to expand their local ministry. The current owners have an inflated price tag on it and unfortunately the church cannot afford to purchase it at this time. They would use the property for expansion of their ministry by way of having a vehicle to provide transportation for some of their members and bringing new believers to worship on the Lord’s Day. They would also use this to build a study center for people of the North Coast to come to study MINTS Courses. There is a small residence on site that could be used for missionary housing when someone is in town to speak. This is something that we can keep in mind for future projects.
